Drama Course

Annarella (1999) pointed out that teaching in a learn through play method helps students to conduct diffused thinking and increases the output of creative ideas. Zhang Xiaohua (1999) pointed out that creative drama is a teaching method that emphasizes process. Its main purpose is not to make children become performers, but to let children learn to share, express and appreciate themselves through drama teaching. They will learn to integrate their own experiences to achieve personal growth.

This kindergarten attaches great importance to children’s expressive ability and the ability to cooperate with others. Therefore, drama teaching methods are incorporated into daily teaching, including teachers entering dramas, roles on walls, freeze frames and expert coats.

Through drama teaching activities, this kindergarten encourages children to develop their imagination and imitative abilities, use their bodies and spoken language to express emotions and feelings. This inturn will improve communication skills in the process of peer interaction to achieve the cultivation of physical and mental integration.

In addition, creative drama teaching children will use various characters to face and experience various situations that they may encounter in their lives. Through hypothetical situations, they learn oral expressions and try to solve problems in games. It can help young children build the ability to adapt to society better and stimulate their creativity (Ye Yuzhu, 2006).
